Need deep link for Manage Project Costs

We have built a very nice project budget and cost report, but we would like the costs to be drillable into the Manage Project costs screen via a deep link. Based on my research and posts on CCC that is not currently possible. See this and this. It appears that while there is a way to link to the manage project costs page, the parameters are not passable in the link.

  • Alex, please log a service request with the Fusion Project Team on which Deep link to use to get to the manage Project Costs Page.

They will let you know if we do support Deep Links to Manage Project Cost Page and pass the project information to it.

If it is not supported then you can ask the Fusion Support to add it in future via Enhancement and other processes specified by the support Team.

@Krishna Prasad Kotti-Oracle I have confirmed it isn't available via linked discussions. Let me know if an SR is really necessary.

  • Alex, Deep Links are managed by the Fusion Team. We only use it in FAW.

If you need the Deep link, then you need to contact the Fusion Support team for the next steps for Enhancement Request etc.

I see. I'll log the idea elsewhere.

    Hi,

You can use deep link to expenditure item in MPC

syntax: (make sure to replace 'yourserver') i've attached a text file with the URL.

    Parameter 1: objType: Value: EXPENDITUREITEMDETAILS

parameter 2: objKey=ExpItemId, make sure expenditure item is in your analysis, then choose that column for

    "Expenditure Item"."Expenditure Item"

    parameter 3: action: Value: EDIT

And one more suggestion...you can always create an analysis that mimics MPC. Add all the fields needed from Projects Cost Real time subject area, and add the deep link by expenditure item.

If you create an analysis that mimics all data in MPC front end and create a deep link on each trx # that should accomplish the mpc look and feel while still being able to drill into the trx to view accounting/billing/etc.

So what I would normally do, is using something like project costs (or cross subject to get the total costs).

Create an action link that drill to another analysis which display the costs in detail (and use all fields in MPC).

In that 2nd query which mimics MPC, create deep link to actual expenditure item.

In my practices I create a project "consolidated" view where you can drill to the cost detail. Cost detail mimics everything you see in MPC, then includes a drill to the trx. You can also provide views in something like view selector to limit columns, or column selections to allow users to view how they would like.

Hope this helps, if not email/message me and I'd be happy to work with you over teams/webex/zoom.
