We are aware of the current FAW functionality that allows us to add a small text section outside of the workbook and to link this commentary to any line of the workbook, it is a good beginning but a limited functionality : the comment can not be exported, and when the workbook evolves, comments encounter difficulties to match (the arrows cross...).

For example for a canvas with a table containing lines and columns, we imagine adding a column of free text that will be linked to a line via a primary key, will be exported as the other columns of the report, will be written by user A and modified by user B... Not that easy of course but would be very appreciated by our users.

I am envisioning the user needs for different kinds of messaging (like texting each other with a cellphone or with slack) / commenting (making a comment like you do with figjam, it's attached to something on the page) / annotation (what you do with financial analysis on a report, like you would type out some text into a cell in Excel). For annotation, this is the same idea as Muriel's post where they say "column of free text". Many users might enjoy the capacity to simply add a new empty column to a "finished" report and type in some notes / annotation directly into a cell inside the grid of the report.
