I can see the setup table: dw_pay_payroll_d in FAW having payroll_id, payroll_name. But, how do we link it with person table: dw_person_d or assignment table: dw_wrkfrc_asg_f. Please suggest.

The mentioned payroll tables are used in FDI payroll offerings like Payroll Balances & Payroll Costing.
Your ask is to expose Payroll Name with assignment data. There are some grain considerations here like payroll relationship ID and assignment Id which is not supported as mentioned by @Mallikarjuna Kuppauru-Oracle in above comment.
Can you please share your exact use case ? accordingly we can guide to provide guidance on what can be an ideal way to achieve the use case.
