What is the logic to add while creating the prompt in the Logical sql query in OTBI

Suppose a field/column- Effective Date of Balance in Payroll should be between two dynamic parameters such as Start date and end date. Start Date and End date will be as a Prompt on which user will enter dates as required.

What will be the logic for that in the Logical sql query? And what else we have to add while creating the prompts.
