The ability to expose parameters as filter controls gives the dashboard author an enhanced level of control to provide additional detail and context around the presented data. Controls can be configured to use parameterized Top or Bottom filters, allowing users the capability to determine the type of filter and set the number of rows they want returned. Those selections are then passed on to visualizations. Workbook authors can also create 'last x period' parameters. This ability allows users to dynamically control the range of time presented in their analysis. With these interactive and dynamic parameters exposed as filter controls, end users can update and change the scope of their reports with the click of a mouse.
