How to pick right Functional Group in configuration context.

Hi,

I was trying to get right combination of Cost Center and Balancing segment, I used Functional Group which helped me to get 'AND' clause and resulting are appearing as expected.

Now, question is, how to chose the functional group. For eg: If I am setting it for Balacing Segment and Costcenter, how to pick functional groups so that they fall in different group.
