Restricting access to tables/data sources with a privillege/role

is there a way to restrict the developers writing the SQL's based on the HCM/FSCM data source ( not everyone should have access to HCM data source)

Okay got it. As of now we don't have any provision from BIP UI to apply the restriction on Seeded Data source as these are delivered sources.

The ApplicationDB_*  data sources are specific to FusionApps.  The security for this is controlled by applSession / FND tables.

I just confirmed the same from BIP dev team.

You can able to restrict the data source access. Open the Data source Connection apply the security

We don't have any other process to restrict w.r.t BI Publisher.

If the data source is of below types - we can restrict. But we are looking for seeded data sources to restrict (ApplicationDB_FSCM,ApplicationDB_HCM)

JNDI Connection
File
LDAP Connection
OLAP Connection
Web Service Connection
HTTP Connection
Content Server
