Ability to control the target of "Use as Filter" feature in DV visualizations

Currently if you switch on the Use as Filter feature for one visualization it is applied to all other visualizations on the canvas by default. It would be very useful if the developer could control which target visualizations are to be affected by this setting, similar to the control we have over dashboard filters (Filter This Viz By and Apply This Filter To settings).

Our business use case for this is:

Customers need to be able to do variance analysis for their project without navigating to another canvas or workbook

Viz 1: On a canvas, we start with a pivot table showing a customer's projects with plan/actual/variance for the month - we have "Use as Filter" enabled on this viz

Viz 2: A second viz breaks down the viz 1 selected project(s) by a chosen level - for example, level 1 - and shows plan/actual/variance by level so customers can begin to identify high variance rows. We also have "Use as Filter" enabled on this viz

Viz 3: A third viz takes the level 1 selected in viz 2 and breaks the plan/actual/variance down into all the levels below to identify the driver of the variance. We also have "Use as Filter" enabled on this viz

Viz 4: A forth viz shows the plan/actual/variance for the selected level in viz 3 broken out by spend category. This is the bottom of the "drill", so to speak, so "Use as Filter" is not enabled for this viz.

In our case it would be more useful if viz 1 and viz 2 were to remain unaffected by selections made in viz 3 and viz 4 so the customer can see their drill path clearly. Viz 3 has many different levels and customers will spend the most time here selecting the lower levels and researching the spend category variances in viz 4. Being able to refer back to data in viz 1 and 2 unaffected by viz 3 choices would help them decide if their selection in viz 2 should change.

As an aside, we understand that having multiple visualizations used as filters on a canvas can get ugly - our customers agree, especially when having to manually clear filter selections from multiple viz. Being able to control the targets of the Use as Filter settings would help mitigate this somewhat also.

Excellent idea to improve data drill down control

It would be very useful to have this implemented.

This is a much needed feature. If there are dashboard filters they also get impacted by the vitalization filter and as a result users are not able to find all values. Of course if they click outside the selection then options come back but it creates confusion and untargeted filter that blindly filters everything on the canvas is not a good idea. I support this idea that developer should have control over this filtration.
