Application Roles Reappearing?

We set up custom groups for our organization to access reports that were custom built dependent on their requirements. We granted duty application roles but did not grant content duties due to wanting to hide Oracle delivered reports to the end users. However, recently all the groups were granted content duties without any service admin granting them. Could this be because of an update? I would like to hear others' thoughts to see if anyone else experienced this.

I don't think upgrade activity will overwrite the changes. Please check your source IDCS settings .

FDI end, security is controlled from IDCS end which is integrated with fusion application.

@Cade Johnston - Generally updates will not impact or update the security configuration done by a user defining Authorization. Kindly check if there was a bundle migrated to the impacted environment with security included. That may have overwritten the security. Thank you!
