Oracle Analytics Server Component Update

During the installation process, I selected only the Oracle Analytics Publisher component, enabling the use of /xmlpserver. In the future, if I wish to update the domain to include the Oracle Analytics Server component, will this be possible? Are there any tools available for updating the domain, or is it not feasible to add it back?
Thanks.

Hi @Tiang ,
AFAIK it's not possible to include additional components into an existing domain (e.g. Oracle Analytics Server in your case). You have to create and configure a new domain with all the components that you need.

Hi @Federico Venturin ,
Even with the $ORACLE_HOME/oracle_common/common/bin/config.sh to update existing domain also can't add back the additional components?

Hi @Tiang ,
You can't extend the existing domain. You have to create a new one, and select both Oracle Analytics Server, and Oracle Analytics Publisher.

Hi @Tiang ,
You got your answers, just adding some "opinions" ;-)
If the screenshot you posted is something you are installing now, you should reconsider your choice.
5.5.0 is the 2020 release, unsupported since 2022, but hopefully it's just an old screenshot of what you did install at that time…
How about you install OAS fully already and simply don't use it? You can manage security to not allow anybody to use "classic" or DV, and just stay in Publisher. And if you really want a "standalone" Publisher experience, you can disconnect the security from FMW and use only Publisher features fully.
Because Publisher comes with the binaries of OAS, it maybe wouldn't be a bad choice, mostly if you plan to use the rest of OAS at some point: less work to do, the product will already be there.

Hi @Gianni Ceresa,
This is the screenshot of the previous installation. I’m planning to upgrade to OAS 7.6 2024.
For an in-place upgrade, I plan to use the same domain without any additional configurations. However, I noticed that the target server for this upgrade does not include the Oracle Analytics Enterprise Edition components.
Since extending the domain and adding those components does not seem feasible, I plan to proceed by directly installing the new binaries, creating a new domain, and transferring the reports to the new domain.
