The one big area which I think is a great potential is actually not the product but the documentation set. That needs a major revamp as I don't think it keeps up with the options available, e.g. at times tick boxes in setup are either not documented or the documentation just references their name and not what they do or the implications.
I think in the SaaS FDI world revisit "cookbook" type solutions to importing and data modelling are needed, presently its just CRM stuff, e.g. easy things and every youtube video going just rinses and repeats that. Its things like bringing in BICC data such as AR data which is not currently there (e.g. customer site and account profile classes as slowly changing dimensions). How to add a new dimension from Fusion ERP into an existing fact. What I'm thinking here is best practice, learn by example stuff that covers ERP and HCM rather than just CRM.
I think we are scratching the surface of functionality mostly because its a journey of discovering what it can do rather than having the available resources to help showcase what it can do.

Data Visualization
Hi @R Stonaker
I would like to understand / review your requests on the basic gaps. Happy to setup a meeting if you are open for a discussion. Please email me directly, and we can schedule sometime -avinash.vaithiyam.krishnaram@oracle.com
Thanks
Avinash
While the AI and other advanced analytics features are fantastic, I do feel that there are many basic gaps in creating data visualizations and dashboards that should be addressed (we have submitted several suggestions in the Idea Lab). Having some of these basic reporting features improved would, in our case, get us closer to being able to take advantage of some of the advanced analytics/AI features.

Auto-Insights & ML
Thank you @Benjamin Arnulf-Oracle
The most requested and desired features by Korean customers recently are that AutoInsight, AI assistant, and Narration visualization, etc. should all support Korean. Many local BI vendors provide Korean support by default along with many features such as AI and ML.

@Elizabeth Kang-PK6NN-Oracle I believe it's planned. I copy @Philippe Lions-Oracle (Auto Insights) and @Jacques V.-Oracle (AI Assistant / NLG) for awareness.

Semantic Modeler
Hi, Yep. I think a lot of mine ideas may be directed more towards the ERP/HCM aspects.
A good example which I went over with the FDI person was the whole JWT tokens for connectivity. The guide goes into OCI docs for writing great swathes of Java code when all it needed was "download putty, generate a new key using the following input values (as I had to find them in a separate MoS doc given they are specific and not documented) and copy it to Fusion SaaS and your FDI admin console", a 30 minute job, but trying to decipher the documentation took days.
I guess for me understanding the division of between OAC and FDI. My "layman's view" is that the FDI aspect is the packaged ETL mappings, RPD setup & reports for Fusion SaaS. I assume the way FDI does semantic model extensions sits as an extra console application specific for FDI?

Other features we desperately need:
1. Change connection for existing datasets
2. Attributes in Tool Tip (Tableau can do this). Currently, DV only permits metrics in Tool Tip
3. Save Customizations for DV like the Classic Version so that various filter combinations can be saved.1 -

Thank you Michael for the detailed feedback.
- Change connection for a dataset is a popular idea and it is planned.
- Attributes in Tooltip has been delivered with the January release. See YouTube here.
- This is also a popular idea and it has been delivered. (EDIT: See correct response by Avinash below)

Correction:
(3) is active project in development, planned for GA 1H2025. What has been delivered is the default filter personalization ie last interacted filter values on the Workbook will be auto persisted when Personalization in available on the Workbook.

Homepage
I voted for the homepage because we still haven't found an organized way of presenting all the reports in similar to highly customizable layouts we have with the classic interface. My team is responsible for delivering reports to many different stakeholders and each stakeholder group have a diverse set of requirements that it is important to have menu trees and layouts that can help present all reports in a quick and easy to find fashion.
