Community Spotlight: Federico Venturin on the Power of Consistent Contribution

We're thrilled to shine our COMMUNITY SPOTLIGHT on Federico Venturin, a seasoned Oracle Analytics Enthusiast, who brings a unique blend of curiosity, consistency and a deep technical expertise to the Community. Federico who's just joined Oracle (Woot woot!) is based out of Italy. Here's his journey to becoming a Rank - 7 Analytics Coach and how he has engaged with the Oracle Analytics Community to make amazing professional and personal moments.
Please Introduce yourself, tell us about your professional Journey?
Hi, I'm Federico Venturin, a seasoned Oracle Analytics enthusiast and currently an Analytics Specialist at Oracle. I’m based in Trebaseleghe, a small town in the northeast of Italy that nobody’s ever heard of—so I usually just say I’m from Venice, which sounds better and is pretty close!
How and when your journey with Oracle Analytics began?
My journey with Oracle Analytics began back in 2010 with OBIEE 10g, when I started out as a dashboard developer. Since then, I've worked with 11g, 12c, OAS and OAC, and I've expanded my expertise to cover all aspects of the tool—from front-end development to back-end administration and architecture.
Which Oracle products do you use?
I mostly work with Oracle Analytics and all the tools that are closely connected to it—like Oracle Database, Oracle Autonomous Data Warehouse, Spatial Studio, and various OCI services.
Do you have a preferred feature that you enjoy within Oracle Analytics?
What I really enjoy about Oracle Analytics are its enterprise-grade features—especially the semantic modeling capabilities. I appreciate how it allows you to combine data from different sources and at varying levels of granularity, all while keeping the experience seamless and transparent for end users.
What did you do to become Rank 7 – Analytics Coach in the community?
To reach Rank 7 – Analytics Coach in the community, I simply made it a habit to dedicate a few minutes each day to sharing my knowledge—whether by answering questions, helping others solve their challenges, or submitting ideas to help improve the product. It’s a small daily effort that adds up over time and contributes to a stronger community.
What do you expect from this community in the coming few months?
In the coming months, I hope to see the community continue to grow in both engagement and visibility. For me, being active in the community has been incredibly valuable—not just for learning and sharing knowledge, but also for connecting with others who are passionate about Oracle Analytics. In fact, networking through the community played a key role in my journey to joining Oracle, so I know firsthand how impactful it can be. I’m looking forward to seeing more collaboration, more idea-sharing, and even more people getting involved and recognized for their contributions.
Are you active with one or more user groups? Please list them
Yes, I’ve been actively involved with several user groups. Until the end of March, I was a board member of ITOUG (Italian Oracle User Group). I’ve also been a speaker at events organized by UKOUG, MakeIT, HrOUG, OUGN, and KScope. Being part of these communities has been a great way to share knowledge, connect with peers, and stay engaged with the broader Oracle ecosystem.
Can you share a memorable moment of your community journey that stood out to you?
One memorable moment from my community journey was attending the Oracle Analytics breakfast event at the last UKOUG conference. It was a great opportunity to finally meet in person so many community members I had only interacted with online. The networking was fantastic, the conversations insightful—and I won’t lie, grabbing a few cool gadgets along the way definitely added to the fun!
What do you think sets the Oracle Analytics community apart from other communities in the same domain?
What sets the Oracle Analytics community apart is how engaged and accessible the product management team is. It’s rare to see such active participation from the folks who actually shape the product, and this provides a great opportunity to ask questions, get direct feedback, and understand the direction of future developments.
What’s your advice for new Oracle Analytics Community members?
My advice to new Oracle Analytics community members is simple: don’t be afraid to participate! Ask your questions, even if they seem naive or silly—everyone starts somewhere, and chances are, someone else has the same question. It's far better to get started properly than to waste hours later trying to fix issues caused by a poor design. Dive in, learn, share, and enjoy the process. The community is here to help you, and the more you engage, the more you'll grow.
