How can I test semantic model changes before publishing the changes?

Hello,

I was under the impression that after I applied my extension, I would be able to see the fields that I am adding reflected in the app, but this is not the case. I would like to test that my changes work prior to Merging and Publishing. Am I missing a step?

Screenshots below display the Target subject area, the branch that I created, and the folder of the subject area (which does not show the new fields I was anticipating to have been added after I applied my extension)

@Kevin Riedy After the Branch is applied. You can publish your Custom Branch instead of Main and test the changes. Once you are ready you can merge that custom branch to main and then publish the Main branch next time with the tag on the last step of Main branch.
