ESS Job Output Not Printing to Printer

Hi All,

I’m submitting an ESS job using the advanced option to print the output to a specific printer. I’ve provided the printer name in the destination field. However, the BIP data model used in the report also includes a bursting query to FTP.

When I submit the ESS job, it only triggers the bursting logic defined in the data model (which sends the output to FTP), but it doesn’t send the output to the printer as expected.

Could you help identify the reason behind this behavior?

You should create a copy of the report, without bursting implemented.

Uncheck it under Edit Report→Properties.

Just to clarify – is it standard behavior that the bursting logic takes precedence over the ESS job output settings?

In other words, when a report is submitted via ESS, does the bursting configuration defined in BIP entirely control the delivery (destination, etc.), effectively overriding any printer or delivery options specified during ESS job submission?
