Dear OAC Product Management Team,

We are writing to formally request an enhancement to the Oracle Analytics Cloud (OAC) Publisher architecture to support the dynamic creation and updating of report templates ("on the fly") at runtime. This capability is critical for our reporting requirements within the Oracle Primavera Cloud (OPC) application.

Current Challenge

We are currently utilizing the OAC SOAP API uploadTemplateForReport to programmatically import multiple report layouts (approximately 11) sequentially in a loop. We have observed intermittent failures during this process:

  • Inconsistent Import Success: Typically, only 7–8 layouts import successfully, with the remainder failing to complete. Occasionally, all 11 layouts import successfully, making root cause analysis difficult.
  • SR and Workaround: This issue has been logged with the OAC Support team under Service Request (SR) 4-0000998307. The OAC Development team suggested a temporary workaround of introducing a 2–3 minute delay between successive API calls; however, this approach did not achieve a 100% success rate.

Architectural Limitation

The OAC Development team has confirmed that the current OAC Publisher architecture does not reliably support dynamic resource updates due to cache synchronization limitations across multiple nodes in clustered OAC environments. This has been explicitly identified as a limitation by design, rather than a defect, and currently lacks a viable workaround for real-time synchronization.

Critical Business Need and Request

Our existing OPC reporting design, which relies on this dynamic template creation capability, is already in production. Consequently, we are unable to implement a design change at this juncture.

Therefore, we urgently request that the OAC Product Management team prioritize the development of an architectural enhancement to address the cache synchronization limitations, thereby enabling reliable, real-time dynamic creation and updating of report templates in OAC Publisher.

We are seeking your support to address this limitation at the earliest opportunity.
