Is Oracle Code Assist currently available for use in OCI, and are the plugins for IDEs released?
I am exploring AI-assisted development capabilities in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), specifically around Oracle Code Assist.
From available information, I understand that:
- Oracle Code Assist is an AI-powered coding assistant running on OCI and designed to improve developer productivity through code generation, explanation, and testing features
- It is designed to work as a plugin within IDEs like IntelliJ IDEA and Visual Studio Code
- It appears to currently be in beta / limited availability, with access restricted or gradually rolled out
However, I need clarity on the following:
- Is Oracle Code Assist generally available (GA) in OCI for all customers?
- Are the IntelliJ and VS Code plugins publicly available in marketplaces for installation?
- If still in beta, what is the process to request access or enroll?
- Are there any region, tenancy, or feature limitations currently?
I am looking to evaluate this for building a Codex-like AI coding assistant and would appreciate guidance on current availability and access steps.

Code Assist still seems to be in Limited Availability status (based on the webpage for it ). If you'd like access you will need to join the beta program or get a product manager to give you access. It has plugins for IntelliJ IDEA and Visual Studio Code. Check out this link for details on how to get access https://blogs.oracle.com/cloud-infrastructure/oracle-code-assist-beta-and-netsuite-suitescript
