The Quiet Demographic Crisis of Our Time
1. Which dataset did you use?
I used a combined fertility analysis dataset built from five source files: core fertility rates, policy interventions, economic and social drivers, education and culture factors, and demographic projections. These datasets were joined mainly using country_code as the common key.
2. How did you analyze or prepare the data?
I cleaned and organized the datasets, standardized the join key, and merged them into a single analysis-ready model. I also created calculated measures such as TFR decline, frustrated fertility gap, population change, and dependency ratio comparisons, while correlation values were pre-calculated externally and loaded as a static reference table for OAC.
3. Who is the intended audience for your visualization?
The intended audience includes policy analysts, government planners, researchers, business leaders, and decision-makers interested in demographic change and fertility trends.
4. What is your visualization about, and what question or problem does it address?
The visualization is about the global fertility decline and its long-term economic and social impact. It addresses questions such as which countries and regions are facing the sharpest fertility decline, what social and economic factors are linked to low fertility, which policy mixes appear more effective, and how these patterns may affect future population change and dependency ratios by 2100.
5. Did you use any Oracle Analytics AI features when building your visualization (ex. AI Assistant)? If so, please describe how they were used
No, I did not use Oracle Analytics AI features such as AI Assistant while building this visualization. The analysis, calculations, visual design, and data preparation were done manually using datasets, calculated fields, static reference tables, and OAC visual configuration.
6. Did you upload your visualization image and dva file?
Yes, I uploaded the visualization image and the DVA file.
