Bulk download/export notebooks as a zip file

Hi! Is there an easier way to download all existing assets for a project in a zipped file? I am currently downloading notebooks one by one which is pretty tedious. It would be great if I could select an entire folder and download everything in one action , mainly for backing up my work, sharing with teammates, or moving assets between environments without all the manual repetition.

Hi @InsightSeeker-Oracle I don't believe there is currently. Even if you selected multiple files from within a folder using the radio buttons and clicked download, I believe it only downloads the file you have clicked on the action menu to download.

I know Git integration is on the Product Roadmap for April which might help with some aspects of this.

However if you are looking for a workaround, one way you could do this currently would be to zip up your notebooks programatically inside a notebook. That code would run very quickly, and would be easy to switch out to other folders / directories, if you wanted to zip up other notebooks

And if you wanted to share that with others on your team, you could just grant permissions to the zip, or store the zip in a Volume for your team to access, or even push it to object storage (again you could do this inside the notebook) whichever is your preference :)

Hi @InsightSeeker-Oracle below is example code for how you can zip files from a given folder in AI Data Platform and push it to a Volume in a managed catalog if it would be useful.

Then you can either:

grant permissions to the Volume for users to access
download the zipped file, which contains all notebooks within the folder
