We need to build a BIP with json as input parameter and xml as the output

We have a requirement wherein:

We need to create a BI publisher, data model with type, which accepts JSON as input. Then using this, we need to create the data template. has anyone come across such requirement? Please share your thoughts

As per my understanding, BI Publisher does not support a native JSON Data Model type.
