We are currently using basic authentication when creating our Oracle FDI to Fusion OTBI Data Connection. We would like to move to OAuth based authentication as we have for our integrations to the Fusion web services. Is there a way to do this?

The Oracle Fusion OTBI Data Connection used by Oracle Fusion Data Intelligence (FDI) is a managed Oracle-delivered connector. As of the current FDI releases, Oracle documents the connection using Fusion application credentials (basic authentication) for data extraction from OTBI. There is no documented option to configure this seeded data connection to use OAuth 2.0 client credentials or JWT authentication in place of basic authentication. For the seeded Fusion OTBI Data Connection, Oracle expects:

• Fusion application URL
• Fusion username
• Fusion password

These credentials are securely stored and used by the FDI extraction framework to execute OTBI/BICC data extraction jobs. Although Fusion REST and SOAP APIs support OAuth 2.0 through Oracle Identity Domains (OCI IAM), that capability is not currently documented as being supported for the FDI OTBI connector.
