Currently, in Oracle Analytics Cloud (OAC) Data Visualization (DV), dashboard filters retain their selected state, while top-level filters do not resulting in an inconsistent user experience. Enabling top-level filters to retain their state would provide several benefits:
- Consistent User Experience: Aligns the behavior of top-level filters with dashboard filters, reducing confusion and making filter interactions predictable.
- Improved Productivity: Users do not have to repeatedly reapply filter selections when navigating or interacting with visualizations, saving time and effort.
- Better Analytical Workflows: Analysts often explore data iteratively. Preserving filter state allows them to maintain their analysis context, leading to a more seamless exploration experience.
- Reduced User Friction: Eliminates unnecessary repetitive actions, especially for dashboards with multiple or complex filter selections.
- Competitive User Experience: Persistent filter state is an expected capability in modern BI and analytics platforms, helping OAC meet user expectations and improve overall usability.
