We have several datasets that are fairly large and complex, and deliberately left wide open in terms of filtering, so they can serve multiple analytic needs.
However, our user base is requesting the ability to drag and drop relatively complex filters with a surety that the objects and syntax are right.
We would like to be able to have a Shared "Filters" capability, where a filter could be stored, say for example "Large Computer Purchases", defined as ("Product Line = 'Computers'" and "Contract Value > 10,000,000") and then the user could just drag that in and it be applied to their workbook.
Obviously this would only work if the naming on the dataset objects was correct, so this might have to be dataset level, but even that would help in a world where hundreds of workbooks are worked off one IT controlled Dataset.
