How to get AI Agent/Chatbot to parse PDF documents and respond to questions regarding PDF content

Not sure if this is the correct forum. We have connected our PS Platform directly to PS Skills from the Oracle Store. We are not using the ODA layer (but we can) because it was not necessary. We have an 80 page Benefits Summary guide and we want users to be able to ask questions and have the Agent respond with answers based on the 80 page PDF document (using LLM / NLP). We tried to Auto-Generate Intents/Utterances based on the document and it create over 90 of them, however, the results weren't good. Is there a way to connect an LLM or load this document into its context? It may be that PS Skills is not the right solution, but if not, curious what the solution is. Is this available in the ODA layer?

This sounds like a good use case for a RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) approach rather than generating dozens of intents from the PDF.

By indexing the 80-page document in a vector store and connecting it to an LLM, the agent can retrieve relevant sections and provide more accurate answers.

Curious if anyone has implemented this through ODA or PS Skills directly.

You can use the Oracle Gen AI services for this. Create a new agent, select the Gen AI to use and feed the document into it. You can easily create a chatbot that uses the agent. Here is an example I did last year, although the steps you need to complete now might be slightly different
