We want a better grasp on what is considered custom data so we can plan ahead and scale properly before we get too big. Fortunately we are no where near the 50gb limit as found using the subject area for custom data but it doesn't tell us other than 'System' where the custom data is coming from. Product management will need to confirm but as far as I understand, anything loaded direct into OAC as a dataset does not touch the data warehouse and only exists in cache and so not contribute to the 50gb. Similarly, as views are virtual they do not store physical data and so wouldn't affect the storage capacity.
What I would say though is don't use datasets in OAC as a workaround to avoid incurring storage charges as there are limitations to things like security for datasets. If something needs to be part of 'Governed Analytics' then it should really be placed in the data warehouse.
