Dear Experts,

We are trying to add security steps to our new implementation but the option that is mentioned in oracle documentation and also seen on other existing implementations is not available in our instance.

The Navigation is FDI Console> Semantic Model Extensions> Security Configurations> Data Security Step.

Screenshot is from one instance where we are able to see this but its missing on another new instance which is under implementation.

Request help.

This appears to be related to the change introduced in the December 2025 release.

Oracle’s December ’25 release notes state:

“The Configurable Security Context capability replaces the data security configuration step for semantic model data security.”

For new instances, the Data Security Step option under FDI Console > Semantic Model Extensions > Security Configurations is therefore no longer available by default, as the newer Configurable Security Contexts capability is intended to replace the legacy security configuration.

Oracle also notes that existing users can raise a Service Request (SR) to re-enable the legacy advanced security assignments for their new instances, if required. Additionally, when deploying application artifacts using bundles, the source and target systems need to use the same type of advanced security configuration.
