This post shares sample content for Fusion SCM Analytics of Oracle Fusion Data Intelligence (FDI) using Oracle AI Data Platform.
Content Description: The Procurement Lead Time Prediction Data Science Pack enables buyers, supply planners, and procurement leaders to estimate when open purchase orders will actually arrive and to identify orders expected to arrive later than planned. It combines Fusion SCM Analytics procurement data, an Oracle AI Data Platform (AIDP) machine-learning notebook, and an Oracle Analytics workbook.
The pack supports users in:
- Predicting the expected lead time, in days from PO approval to receipt, for each open purchase order schedule.
- Identifying open purchase orders expected to arrive later than planned, grouped into On Track, At Risk, and Critical tiers.
- Understanding the factors behind each prediction, such as supplier delivery history, category lead-time patterns, and the planned lead time.
- Comparing predicted delays across suppliers to prioritize follow-up, expediting, and alternate sourcing.
The solution uses FDI procurement purchase order and receipt data. The notebook joins the two, engineers supplier, category, ship-to, and buyer lead-time history features, trains and evaluates three regression models (Ridge, Random Forest, and Gradient Boosting), selects the production model based on test-set R², and scores open purchase order schedules.
The outputs include predicted lead times for each open PO schedule, the gap to planned lead time, risk tiers, row-level SHAP explanations, model-performance metrics, and a registered model. These outputs are made available in the Oracle Analytics workbook for interactive analysis and reporting.
