BI Apps 11.1.1.10.2 - Applying patches is failing

Hi - I am installing BI Apps 11.1.1.10.2 in Windows 64 bit. I am getting errors while applying patches.First i tried with APPLY_PATCHES.pl and got the following error.

* BIAPPSSHIPHOME Patching Report ..........

Patch Failed: p22258672_111190_Generic.zip

Patch Failed: p22382217_111190_Generic.zip

All other patches failed as well. Then i tried the manual method as per the installation doc and got the following error.

Error: Could not find or load main class ;D:\OBIEE11g\Oracle_BI1.common.wlst.lib

.webcenter-admin-commands.jar;D:\OBIEE11g\Oracle_BI1.analytics-collector.archive

s.applications.analytics-collector-jee.jar;D:\OBIEE11g\ORACLE~1.modules.oracle.j

rf_11.1.1.jrf-wlstman.jar

The file "webcenter-admin-commands.jar" is present at the path mentioned in the error. However, one thing i noticed in the path after "Oracle_BI1" instead of having backslash there are dot between the folders in the path that is being displayed in the error.

Hi,

Can you try once applying the patch once again..

Make sure that all the BI services are down before applying the patch

1. OPMN services

2. BI Managed server

3. Admin server

Navigate to \OBIEE1g\Oracle_BI1\perl\bin and then give below command

perl \OBIEE11g\Oracle_BI1\biapps\tools\bin\APPLY_PATCHES.pl \OBIEE11g\Oracle_BI1\biapps\tools\bin\apply_patches_import.txt

Let us know the output. If error occurs, share us the log..

Hi Yashwant - Earlier also i had done the same way as you have mentioned. This is the final patch report it shows and the same contents are there in the log.

Hi,

There will be some other logs individually for the BIAPPSSHIPHOME, ODI and OracleCommon.

Please check those logs. They will show the exact error to debug.

Log name will be like biappshiphome_generic_patches.log

Hi Yaswanth - There is not other log that got created below is the screenshot of the working directory where logs should get created i am not able to see the other logs over here. They would have helped in debugging.

I am asking about the log file "biappshiphome_generic_patches.log" which is there in your screenshot. Open that file and see the error..

If possible share us the log file

I don't have any idea on those DIF files. Even in my instance I could see but I didn't even try to open..

Hi Yeshwanth - There is no info in the log file below is the content. Only one line in "biappshiphome_generic_patches" log. file

OPatch failed with error code = 1

One thing i noticed when i had tried to do the patching as mentioned in my first post. The folder separator of windows is being replaced by dots after Oracle_BI1.
