OBIAPPS 7.9.6 ETL Customization (DAC/Informatica)

Question

Hi All,

I'm looking for some advice as to best practice around customizing a BI Apps ETL.  This is BI Apps 7.9.6, so the ETL is DAC and Informatica (no ODI).  We've been experiencing ETL failures and raised an SR with MOS.  As a fix, MOS have advised changing the SQL in an Infa Source Qualifier.  We want to create a folder in Informatica to hold customized workflows and the component objects, the idea being any patching/upgrade wont overwrite our customization's.  Having created the customized Informatica objects how do we update the DAC to use the new Informatica workflow?  MOS have not been able to answer this question, other than referring me to the documentation.  However the documentation does not cover how to customize the DAC or Informatica.

Once you have modified the workflow/mapping  in your custom folder in Informatica, you add them to DAC. How to do the latter is in the DAC documentation.

Document also clearly state at the begining as following:
