Issue after 12C upgrade

Question

Hi Experts,

Recently we have upgraded our environment from OBIEE 11g to OBIEE 12C, So here we are facing issues with data validation.

For Ex: we have a report in 11g showing some 20 records then the 12C report is showing more/less  no of records.

We analysed and found query mismatch happening, so can you please let us know what would be the root cause and any work around or suggestions.

If the model is right (really right) OBIEE would generate either the same query or one returning the same data (except if you played with DB features etc.).

If the 2 environments return different results it's because your model isn't that right.

So look at the generated query, find what is different, what is missing to get you what you expect and then adapt/fix the model so that OBIEE will generate the appropriate query.

Hi Gianni,

Actually 11g and 12c both are the right models. In fact some of the 12c reports are working fine, But only few are deviating from the actual result set.So I was clueless to find the root cause.

Please suggest for trouble shooting steps.

Also can we make any changes in query generated by BI server and reapply the same on the report.
