Saved Personal Filters

Summary
Can our users save their reporting preferences?
Content
Hi all - I have users that will export their report, slice it a variety of ways, and then send off to their customers for further use. Is there a way that they can save a customized set of filters? Effectively then, they would run the master report, apply filter 1, export report 1, apply filter 2, export report 2, etc.
I know this is possible to do with Excel macros. However, I am hoping to find a way to make it a little more efficient for them.
This option would be needed for both OTBI and BIP reports.
Thank you!

Hi Prudence,
You mentioned that the filters are to be applied post export (that is outside the application) in this case you would need to devise some way in excel only.
One may create multiple filters and then create different dashboards/ bi-reports though (but would still take some effort and wont be as simple as you want it to be).
Experts might suggest better solution.
Good to have an opinion of product development team too.
Kind Regards
Ashish

In case of BIP report, Bursting can be used to filter data and export to different files. The query will be run once, data will be fetched once as well, but will be exported into different files post filtering.
For OTBI, again multiple views, with different filter criteria applied, can be created out of a single big initial analysis. These views can be placed on multiple pages of a dashboard and can be scheduled to deliver via agents.

Thanks Ashish - I'll keep thinking!

Shakher - thank you! Is there a way to read more about Bursting? I have heard people mention this before, but in reading the documentation it's a little more technical, so wasn't sure if there was a Bursting for Dummies?

BI Publisher Bursting feels tricky in the starting. Following are some useful resources:
