Dynamic Scale Markers for Trellis Graph

Summary

How to define Scale Markers that vary by Account in order to reflect the service level agreement for the Account

Content

In a Trellis graph of Account v. Activities I would like to show a Scale Marker at the level of the number of activities allowed for the Account per month. I have columns of the Trellis equal to the months, the rows are the Accounts, and the magnitude of the value is the Number of Activities. Some Accounts get 10 Activities per month, others get 20 Activities per month, and others get just 5 Activities per month. I would like the Scale Marker to change for each account, based on a number column that is on the Account record, so we can see how close to the monthly limit the Account is getting.

  • Thomas seems this is by design for Simple Trellis , not sure if Advance works for your requirement.

The Simple Trellis displays a single type of inner visualization, for example, all bar graphs. The inner visualization always uses a common axis, so that all inner graphs are viewed on the same scale. Having a common axis makes all graph markers easy to compare across rows and columns.

  • Thank-you for the response, Syed, but whether simple or advanced trellis, the trouble I have is with dynamic scale markers. I gave your suggestion a shot, creating an advanced trellis, but don't see how I can get the visualization that we are trying to achieve.

  • Hi Thomas - I had this looked into by the B2B Service OTBI team. This seems to be a limitation in OBIEE Answers. I suggest you post this on the 'OBIEE for Applications' forum so that there is visibility to it by the OBIEE team.

Otherwise, I can move it for you. Pls let me know.

    Thanks

  • Anand,

Thank-you so much for investigating this with the B2B Service OTBI Team and for your suggestion to post it to the 'OBIEE for Applications' forum! I would appreciate it if you would move this to that forum so that there is visibiliy by the OBIEE Team (I am not conversant with the mechanics in this forum). Thank-you again for your efforts and help!

    All the best!

  • Tom,

Welcome! This is now moved to the 'OBIEE for Applications' forum for the BI Platform team's consideration.

    Thanks
