Subject Area for Area of Responsibilities (AOR)

Summary:

I am looking to see if it is possible to build a custom Subject Area for the AOR

I know that the AOR doesn't already exist in the Subject Areas but we have many reports that require this information.

Every time we create a report, we need to convert it to BIP so that we can use the OBIEE query and then combine in the AOR.

This is becoming a problem as now the business would like to see reports built with pivot tables on the AOR information.

Currently we are using Excel templates and doing a vlookup to the AOR and then creating the pivots but I would prefer if we could do this within the analytics tool instead of in Excel.

Is this possible? has anyone ever created their own Subject Area?

Hi, In the past on  premise I have created many subject areas using OBIEE. But you are definite NOT allowed to create nor edit any of the subject areas in OTBI in SaaS with your Oracle Cloud Applications.

BTW Included in your licence at no extra cost your Oracle Cloud Applications do provide a data extract service so you can schedule a regular incremental data extract using your out of the box cloud connector BICC xxx.oraclecloud.com/biacm/ to extract the transaction data in the applications public view objects "tables and views" to a CSV file to the out of the box provisioned universal content management UCM Web Center Content WCC xxx.oraclecloud.com/cs/. You can then build your own custom data visualisations using that extracted data. More columns are exposed in these PVO than are in the data lineage to the subject areas in OTBI. Hi PamS,

As per my understanding, it is not possible to create a custom SA in your SaaS environment. You can do it in Fusion Analytics Warehouse if you have subscribed for that.
