Improve Searching for Subject Area In BI Answers Experience
Description
Searching for Subject Area In BI Answers Is Very Difficult
Use Case and Business Need
It's very difficult to search for subject areas when you are creating OTBI reports. There is just a small window and you will have to keep scrolling down to get to the right one. You will have to do this every time, there is no way to favorite a subject area or customize it.
Even if you don't use Benefits, Payroll, Compensation etc, but still you see them on the list and you will have to keep scrolling.
It would be great to allow users to search for subject areas, favorite them or the ability to pick and choose.
It will help users to quickly to browse and get the right subject area.

Hi All - Improved search functionality in OTBI is slated for R13 to be released next year, or so they said at Oracle Open World.

Yes, strongly agree. Now it is very difficult to identify the subject area.

As a temporary workaround, I've been using my browser's search feature to help find subject areas. For example, click New > Analysis > press keys CTRL F > type Sales - CRM Pipeline. This will jump the scroll bar in the subject area popup down to Sales - CRM Pipeline, making it very fast to find and select. I would MUCH prefer to have enhanced subject area searching built into the application, however.

I totally agree with your comment. Now it is very difficult to identify the thematic area.
