Description

We have a requirement to capture Descriptive Flex field Column values on Our Custom OTBI Report.

We are creating this report using Expense Transactions real Time SA.

We have created DFF at Expense Header level as we do not find option to create DFF at itemization level.

Now Expense Transactions real Time SA has a predefined below condition applied to it:

"If an EXPENSE TYPE has not been Itemized ,it will appear in expense type column values.

But if an EXPENSE TYPE has been Itemized , header value wont appear and only Item lines would appear in the expense type column values."
We know that above condition has been applied to avoid Duplicate Data.

But this Pre-applied condition in Expense Transactions real Time SA is causing issues while picking up DFF values.

When we try to pick value from DFF column, we get the values for those Expense Types which are not yet Itemized(Header).
But when we pick same DFF value for those Expense Types which are Itemized it gives us blank.
This is because DFF is at Header level and Subject area is restricting header values to appear once Itemized.

Itemized mean #
Breaking of expense line into sub lines based on expense type (Parent -> Child type of categorisation). Let's say we have 1 expense line of expense type "Hotel Domestic". The amount again this expense type can further have sub type as "Room Charges" and "Food Expense".

Hotel Domestic -> Amount 1000
Room charge - 800
Food Charge - 200

Use Case and Business Need

DFF value needs top be captured in Custom OTBI reports developed using Expense Transactions Real Time SA.

OTBI subject area is restricting Header values to appear once Itemized(Only item lines appear).

But as DFF is captured at header level and not item level this requirement is not being fulfilled using existing subject area.

More details

Current Expense Transactions Real Time SA has predefined condition if an EXPENSE TYPE has been itemized , header value wont appear and only Item lines would appear in the expense type column values is causing issues with DFF values.
