Report output in excel has merged cells making fuller analysis difficult (e.g. running Pivots)

Merged cells in report output

- ideally the attribute 1 and 2 would repeat for all applicable rows, this would support further analysis of downloaded reports.

This would enable further analysis of data download both for BIP and OTBI reports adding value for large reports that cannot only be consumed by eye.

a lot of manipulation is required before the downloaded report can be used for further analysis

Have you used the Analysis Table View Properties "Row Styling/Repeat cell values" or the "Value Suppression > Repeat" Column Property?

These properties will have the data repeat in the Analysis table and the exported data will also included the repeated values.

This is actually possible for BI reports by setting a property.
