Disable Drag and Drop for Report Folders
Organization Name
American Express
Description
We have had issues with permissions when a report folder is accidently moved by dragging and dropping to another folder. When the folder is moved back it retains the permissions from the place it was moved to. This allows users to see information that they should not have access to. We have also had people move reports between folder without even realizing.
We need to have the ability to disable drag and drop of report/report folders or at the very least have a message display to have the user confirm that they really want to move the report or the folder.
Use Case and Business Need
This could create security risks if it is too easy to move reports and folders.

It is just too easy to move files and there is no warning that this happened. Anyone having write access to a folder has probably encountered this at least once. A popup confirmation message would be very nice. We have advised the whole reporting team to just not user drag and drop at all to build a habit.

I couldn't agree more. Sorely needed functionality that maybe admin can turn on/off.

We definitely need functionality to prevent drag and drop or a warning/pop message even if the folder is accidentally dropped.

This has happened to us several times. A warning message would be ideal for us.

Have had issues with this feature before with a developer moving whole folders, definitely a useful to disable

I couldn't agree more. We suffered a lot in our Internal Project because of this.

This would be great if this was disabled. It leads to too many accidental drag and drops.

This has caused multiple problems for us as well including processes not running; notifications not being issued and interfaces not working

if feasible then team should work on pop up message when any movement of file/folder take place or any email notification when any movement of folder/file take place especially in production instance

this would prevent accidental drag and drop
