Create Seeded Reports Excel Versions That Allow a User to Easily Filter and Us
Description
I find that the seeded Oracle reports are basically useless if you have a lot of date. For example, The property tax report. This report has a lot of information and yet you can't easily filter the excel to view the data as a user would need to if they are using this report to fill out a 571 property tax form. This makes the report a waste of time.
I think all seeded reports that have excel versions should be created in such a way that perhaps Excel has a different layout so that a user could actually use the report.

100% agree. Although the options promise an excel output, it simply provides the same image but opens in excel. With the exception of audit reports and output documentation these reports are required for analysis, and in the current format it's not possible without significant manipulation. A key report we have major issues with is the Uninvoiced Receipts Report which is no use to anyone. We spend a lot of time creating new templates to overlay the data model to provide more user friendly outputs but if oracle could provide improved outputs directly from the system it would be of benefit to all Oracle users.

I couldn't agree more. The Uninvoiced Receipts Report is a great example. Also, for Fusion you can't use any developer tool such as Toad to make it easier for you to access the tables and create the data model to then create the report.
We've had to create a custom uninvoiced Receipt report but there are times when this report has a small variance so it's not perfect.
There is OTBI analysis but that also has its own issues.

I have received the same feedback from end users in many occasions. This is an issue with reports in GL too.
À workaround is to download the report in CSV format and open it in excel. The report in CSV can be filtered more easily however it includes some redundant columns and the column names is not as user friendly as in other formats.I hope this helps.

I'd agree. Some of my users are capable of using the csv output, but unfortunately many others are not. If they could get the report in Excel format with just one header row then they could do their sorts, filters, summaries, etc. in Excel themselves. We could have our BI developers work on more complicated tasks. It's deja EBS all over again with the reports.

Thumbs up! The same request from users. CSV has lot of extra columns with technical names which is frustrating for not experienced user.

Moving this idea to OTBI Idea lab since this idea is related to reporting issues across products,

Good idea.
