Feasibility of having SQL Developer Connection to Oracle HCM Cloud Enviornment

Please make this happen, Oracle! It would make troubleshooting and development so much more efficient. Sorry to nitpick, but it's kind of embarrassing that Oracle still hasn't extended the wonderful SQL Developer tool to its world-class Apps and Analytics Cloud. UPVOTE!!

Will be very useful feature.

Great thread! For those of you using SQL connect, besides the advantages of being able to run ad hoc queries and connect to multiple instances, are there other compelling advantages of the tool? We saw the note that it is not Oracle recommended - so hoping to get a better idea of it's offerings and anything to be cautious of. Thanks!

This would be a huge improvement over current processes of trying to build reports in the BIP tool which is very klunky! It would make developers working in this area much more productive.

This will really improve the efficiency and productivity of developers and will definitely make the life easier.

I'm not understanding why this capability does not yet exist. I was just reading posts from 2020 on this topic a moment ago. It's now the year 2023 and still no word on it. Also, My Oracle Support just referred me to come here to the community and ask about SQL Developer connecting to Cloud. I may not have found great instructions yet (maybe it *does* exist and we all just don't know that yet? Does Oracle Support know? Apparently not, because they referred me here to other people asking for it),... but when I open up SQL Developer, it says you can connect to Cloud. So confusing. So, it's a bigger concern as to why Oracle Support cannot answer on that question as far as how to connect to our cloud environments.

Official word still is there is no connecting to Cloud from Oracle's end. No plans in place either.

My tech team would really like this too. Having to create a BI report just to research a problem is painful.

I see that this is still an open and hot topic.
Can someone from Oracle explain why this idea is not taken into account? Don't tell us performances because the way it works today requests all the customers to keep polling the bi report services to retrieve the data they need.
