Question on Using Semantic Modeler for Hybrid Data Sources (Fusion Procurement and ADW)

Hello Group,
Our analysis currently spans multiple topics, with data sourced partly from Oracle Fusion Subject Areas and partly from external data in ADW (Autonomous Data Warehouse). Given this setup, I have two main questions:
- Would using Oracle's Semantic Modeler be advisable for our hybrid data sources?
- If we decide to implement the Semantic Modeler, should we continue to use Fusion Subject Areas as the data source for Fusion content, or is there a way to fetch data directly from the Fusion database?
Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you!

Hi,
This forum is for Oracle Transactional Business Intelligence OTBI in Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications. Semantic Data Modeller is NOT in OTBI. Semantic Data Modeller is in Oracle Analytics Cloud OAC. OTBI in Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications is not implemented using Oracle Analytics Cloud (OTBI uses the "legacy" OBIEE).
BTW The recommended by Oracle good practice method for "bulk" extract of data from Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications is to use Business Intelligence Cloud Connector BICC. This will get incremental CSV data files to your out of the box Universal Content Management or an external object storage you have purchased. You will need to use a data integration tool to load your bicc extract files to your data source.
But if you have OAC then you have 2 additional options
1) OAC Applications Connector to get a “real time” connection to the subject areas in OTBI in Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications. Bypass BICC with a connection to OTBI as a data source (no extract load).
2) OAC Data Replication to automatically get the files output from the data extraction from Business Intelligence Cloud Connector (BICC) to load incremental into your selected external database.
