How to edit the sales order Report data model

I want to add new columns in the sales order print dala model. But I found out that the data model is not in sql but in XML format. When I downloaded the file it is in .xmdz file extension, which not opening in readable or editiable mode. Please help me in finding a way to add new columns in the data model of sales order report data model.

Path to find the data model - Shared folder → Supply Chain management → Order Managment → sales Order → Data Model.

You can simply login to the catalog and edit the DM directly.

Downloaded files of type .xdmz can be unizipped and the contents can be viewed.

Login to /xmlpserver.

Go to the catalog, select the data model, More→Download.

We have a similar need to customize SO report. We downloaded xdmz file and unzipped it. It contains xml, xdm, xlf & meta files.

How do we use them to create a SQL data model?

Easiest method is to select customize for the data model and then edit the SQL data set.

There is no parameter in the SO data model.

I think we need to know the parameter passed to data model when user click print in UI. So we can print specific order.

May I know how can I get the parameter if I added new SQL data set?

You have the data model in edit mode.

Add the new data set there.

There are no parameters in this data model.

I saved the sample xml and created a test report with only 2 fields, but the field not showed.

May I know why?
