BI Publisher 12 > update an XLS template, only the RTF format is offered
Hello,
I have been working with BIP12 recently, I want to update an Excel model, but only the RTF format is offered. When I create a new model, the Excel format is suggested. Do you know where the problem could come from ? Thank's

Thanks for using customer connect.
According to the issue described, you have created a XLS data model and used certain template to it. Now you want to change the template and while updating the template, you are seeing the template type is coming in rtf only, no other option is showing up.
Please confirm if the understanding is correct. If not, please provide exact steps.
Also, could you please confirm if the .xls template was created and saved as Excel 97-2003? If used any later version, no feature supported later 2003 version has been included in the template design?

Your understanding is totally correct.
Everything is correct with BI Publisher 10, the template work with this version since years.
We are trying to migrate to version 12. The RTF models work. We are stuck updating an Excel template from the console.
As a workaround we can only delete the template and recreate it, it is not practical. We can also try the Excel plugin but it is not the target solution in production.
