Large Data Set not returning

Hi Everyone!

The organization I work for has ~10 manufacturing plants across the US. Folks on the HR compensation team analyze compensation data for those locations as a function of their roles.

We have a report that is running just fine for me as a HRIS administrator. I can run a full Quarter's worth of data for all of our locations and the report generates just fine. But our comp team recently started experiencing errors, but ONLY when they run a large data set. i.e., if they run a report for 3 months worth of data from all of our locations, they get an error. If they run the same reports for 1 month of data from 1 location, results generate.

If a full quarter of data for all locations generated too many lines for OTBI(the 75001 or whatever it is) I would expect to get the same error as the Compensation Analysts. But somehow, it works for me and not them.

Has anyone experienced this before?

Based on what you have described, you should ideally create an Analytics Publisher (formerly BI Publisher report for this. OTBI analysis is not meant to handle this kind of volume.

With Analytics Publisher report, you can schedule the report multiple times with different parameter values, and if needed merge the outputs later.
