Hi Team,
Need to create alert when PO Receipt date is in closed AP period.
When i goto OTBI, i dont see any option to create alert, any role i am missing? please help. Print screen is attached.
Regards,
kalpesh
Hi Kalpesh, In the screen you posted it shows that your BI Administrator HAS already using page Manage Privileges /analytics/saw.dll?PrivilegeAdmin granted this user privilege to create an alert using Agent.
To create an alert in the global header select Create, system display list of values, in Actionable Intelligence expect a menu item Agent. If using out of the box roles then you probably got this privilege from inherit role BI Author Role. So go ahead and create yourself an alert using an agent.
For more information read your user guide on how to use product Delivers in the suite of products in OTBI

@Nathan CCC Thanks for your response, but we cant use any SQL query in these agents to create alert.
My customer gave me this print screen..but i am not able to see this from my login? am i missing any role?Any other suggestion?
Hi, You have privilege to create an alert if you can create an agent which on the left hand side in purple Actionable Intelligence is link Agent. All agents use a SQL query from a subject areas in the metadata repository database RPD to get the content in the alert using an analysis or an analysis on dashboard page or briefing book.
But you cannot expect to see any alerts at the top of your home page unless your user in configured as the "recipient" of an agent by the designer of that agent. So review the setup of the agent in question here that produced this alert. Are you in the recipient?
If the designer of the agent published it in a shared folder for subscription then you may be able to self service by subscribing to the agent. Otherwise the designer may have setup a hard coded list of users or roles. Or a list of recipients based on SQL. Or even just a list of recipients as email addresses who do not even have to exists as users. etc.
