My custom report not showing results after applying Accounts paybale payment supervisor role.

Question

Hi, I am using Payable Payment - Disbursement real time subject area to generate one report but when I pull the payment amount and payment date to layout I am not seeing any result.

So I applied accounts payable payments supervisor role, but still can't see anything.

Anyone please respond why I am getting this

Hi,

Granting a job role does not give a user any data access.

Assuming the obvious that you do in fact have some payments in your system!

Your user has bi consumer role and

as per your user guide for this subject area

you have granted one of the 6 job roles that inherit the duty role

* Payables Payment Transaction Analysis Duty
* Payables to Ledger Reconciliation Transaction Analysis Duty

required to query a subject area without the system throw an error.

All good so far but …

But If the subject area has data security, as most do, then your outcome is the expected result is a successfully executed query that return no rows found or sometimes limited rows like only the transactions your user owns etc.

To understand you can view log in page manage sessions to see the data security where clauses added at runtime by the system to limit your user to view only data they are authorized to view.

To fix then read the data security policies in your job role then go to page manage data access for users to grant a security context to your user for this job role to for example a business unit.
