I need to make a report in OTBI that only shows information for its AOR

Question

I have a report that shows the salary history of the employees, which should work for a custom role that we have in the company, which works through the areas of responsibility, but when the client executes said report, it It shows information about all the company's collaborators, the role already has a security profile, should I check any privileges of the role?

Hello Nathan,

I created my report through an OTBI data model, I have my custom roles which is called "Talent and Development Advisor", which the scope is by department type Hierarchy and if you have already created your data role from Manage roles of data and security profiles, on the other hand the AoRs were assigned to employees through Layouts.

We have our compensation managers viewing only data they are authorized to view by areas of responsibility. Maybe compare our notes on what we did. What did you do.

Assume you created a custom read only job role as a copy of pre defined job role either Compensation Analyst or Compensation Manager. In that custom job role you added nothing, you kept all data security polies, you deleted all function security policies, you deleted all roles except for the transaction analysis duty roles you need for your subject area example Compensation Transaction Analysis Duty.

Then you created a custom security profile using areas of responsibility. Was it on Person? What was the scope of the AOR? Business Unit? Department Hierarchy?

Then in My Enterprise work area Setup and Maintenance task Manage Data Role and Security Profiles you created a custom data role which inherit your custom job role with the custom security profile?

Then you granted AOR to user. Or created a AOR template then added user direct to it.
