Banner on Reports & Analytics page

Hi ,
We have noticed a new yellow banner at the top of the 'Home' page in all our environments on Reports & Analytics page since it got upgraded to 24D stating "The Marketing Segmentation and Scorecard features are deprecated and will be removed in a future release."
Can anyone help with the impact it has and how it affects the customer once deprecated and removed. Also, if there is an alternative already implemented.
Regards,
Neha

Hi Neha,
Little to no impact. The platform inside package service OTBI is suite of products Oracle Business Intelligence OBI (suite Enterprise Edition EE). 2 of the products in this suite is the 1) "green/teal" Marketing product with objects Segment, Segment Tree, List Format and 2) the "purple" product Scorecard and Strategy Management with objects Scorecard, KPI, KPI Watchlist.
Out of the box in your package of pre-defined objects built using OBIEE in OTBI in your catalog you have NO objects of this type either "teal" Segment, Segment Tree, List Format or "purple" Scorecard, KPI, KPI Watchlist. So no impact on you unless you used these product to build anything yourself using these product in the custom folder.
A quick history lesson. Oracle bought the product suite Oracle Business Intelligence from Siebel Systems back in the day like 20 years ago in 2005. Oracle focussed I would say more on development of the publisher and analytics and dashboards products in the suite in its 2010 11g and 2015 12c releases.
"teal" Marketing
So by acquisition the suite included some products for customer relationship management for Segment, Segment Tree, List Format. The Segment, Segment Tree, List Format products have been pretty much "stagnant" since then in that they were not widely used in most implementations with Oracle Applications.
"purple" Scorecard and Strategy Management (OSSM)
This has been deprecated in OBI for some time. See the statement of direction. "When it was launched in 2010, OSSM allowed customers to easily create visual representations of their corporate Vision, Goals and Strategy. At the time this visual capability was unique to OSSM. With the introduction of Oracle Analytics Cloud and it’s visual analysis and narrative capabilities, we find that customers prefer this more fluid and freeform environment for conveying their goals and strategy. Oracle Data Visualization is now the strategic, go forward tool for communicating and tracking corporate goals and strategy. With this prioritization of investment, no further enhancements and features are planned for Oracle Scorecard and Strategy Management. The terminal release for OSSM is 12.2.1.2.0" Statement Of Direction for Oracle Scorecard & Strategy Management Product(OSSM) (Doc ID 2530313.1)
