Workaround ideas to include or exclude columns in DV?

In OAC and classic, there's a feature that allows you to choose to include extra columns in a table or exclude columns from a table. We would love to be able to do something similar when creating tables in DV. Are there any creative ways to do this same functionality? We have experimented using parameters, but it renders the table unusable.

There are existing idea lab posts about this, but this feature is highly necessary for our organization to put out several key reports so I wonder if there's any solutions in the meantime as I haven't seen this update featured on the roadmap yet.

Sorry, no workarounds or suggestions besides parameters which you've already tried. I have upvoted the idea in Idea Lab now as this is definitely a really nice feature in Classic that some of our end users are used to but missing in DV.
