Hi Friends,

Looking for quick help in one of the requirement in FDI where we have to build 3-4 visualisation in single canvas using Financials -AR transaction ,SCM -COGS and Margin and Inventory Subject area .
Scenario 1: Can I use cross subject area ,like AR transaction and COGS to showcase Invoice Amount ,Gross profit and Inventory organisation.

Scenario 2: Even If I build a visualisation as mentioned above how will my Dashboard filter work as I need to have Inventory organisation from COGS subject area and Fiscal period from AR transaction SA.

Thanks for the patience to read this through and help .

Regards

FDI allows cross-subject area reporting - and the joins are appropriately taken care by the system based on the RPD model internally. You can pull the columns from any SA and report as long as that granularity resides in the other SA too. In your case if you want to report using Inventory Org then you should ensure AR Subject Area also can derive metrics at Inventory Org level - if not, then you may need to use SME to get the needed columns and ensure measures are leveled appropriately.

    Hi Anitha,

    Thanks for the response.
I understood that using any columns from any SA will work if we have the data granularity at same level.
Now in my case, I have to create 4 analysis in one canvas which will required three SA like AR, Inventory and SCM-COGS(for Gross Profit).
In this case, how my dashboard filter will work, if I pull the columns like fiscal Year, from one SA and Invemtoty Org from Inventory SA.

How about creating dataset, with all three SA ...joining with common attributes .Will be there any performance impact .

    Regards

  • I think you will see the metrics fully aggregation one value for all rows? meaning same value for all rows - as Inventory Org is not probably in AR. You can't get the granularity unless you have a way to tell the system how to aggregate. here it can get by default - so it can't aggregate. So precisely, I am trying to say - you can get such aggregations working only if the attributes are common. Create a report and check - what value it gives? just curious.

Also , dataset again may not work unless you have the aggr defined at appropriate level.
