Apply System Step or Publish Custom Branch in Semantic are taking too much of time
Hello Team,
Apply System Step or Publish Custom Branch in Semantic are taking too much of time to complete.
FYI we have 150+ steps in the semantic model extension.
We know when ever we create or modify DA apply system steps will run and it will validate all the steps in the semantic and when we publish the custom branch also it is validating all the steps in semantic.
Going forward the number of steps will increase with our customizations and time to publish or apply system steps completion process takes more time.
Is there any way we can improve the performance of the semantic process to complete?

We are enhancing the Sandbox Framework capabilities in this area. To benefit from these improvements, we advise that you migrate from Branch to Sandbox.

In the up and coming release the Sandbox framework will have an option for manual execution of apply system extensions (to delay the System Steps) until you are ready to apply them. This will not be available for Branch framework.

Quick Question: Can you please confirm if we upgrade to sandbox framework what are the general challenges we may get as per your experience when migrating to new framework as we are working on multiple custom branches right now?

@User_UJUA7 Hi Mahesh, there are a lot of improvements with Sandbox framework vs Branch. One current limitation is there is no tagging of customizations (like in branch). That said, you will see a lot of Sandbox improvements coming in 24.R4 in December 2025.
