As an admin user in Oracle Fusion Data Intelligence, am I able to view another user's folder data?
Hi Everyone,
I am an admin user with full access in Oracle Fusion Data Intelligence. I would like to confirm whether it is possible for me to view another user's folder data in the system.
In the Content Management section, I am able to see all workbooks and folders. However, when I try to change the ownership of any item, I receive the following error:
“There was an error setting ownership.”
Could you please clarify whether an admin is allowed to view or take ownership of another user's folders, and if so, how this can be done? Additionally, any guidance on resolving this ownership-change error would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

Yes, an admin in FDI can view all user content. However, the standard FDI "Admin" role does not grant the necessary underlying privileges (specifically OCI IAM/Fusion-role) to directly take ownership of another user's private folder content via the FDI user interface.
To resolve it, can you try following:
Have the owner share their folder with your user identity or a shared analytics group you belong to, then you can open, modify, save-as, and move copies.
Hope it helps!

Thanks for the update. Do you have any other suggestions or approaches we can try to gain access to the user’s private folder content?

I believe this is possible using Catalog Manager for OAC instances. But I don´t know if this works with FDI instances. Using Catalog Manager with Oracle Analytics Cloud
